Growing up, I struggled with my unconventional name—Claude—which was suggested by my artist uncle, Emile. As a child, his work fed my imagination. Our bond as fellow artists deepened in recent years. After visiting his studio, Nothing was Left Unsaid took shape, echoing his visual language, and perhaps reflecting our family's exile from Iraq. Our connection flows through this work.
